General Motors has been on a sales surge over the past year and that is still the case as GM reported strong sales figures for the month of August. All of GM’s brands across the board showed strong sales increases for the month of August, especially Buick and GMC.
Looking closer at GMC’s sales figures for the month of August the GMC Acadia and GMC Terrain led the way as the Acadia showed a sales increase of 26 percent and the Terrain posted a 16 percent over last August. Specifically, GMC increased sales as a whole by 4 percent compared to last year even considering a strong decrease in fleet sales. This just shows how committed people are to GM, especially the GMC brand.
Buick also had a strong month for GM as it increased monthly sales by 12 percent compared to last year. The new Buick Verano led the way for Buick, as far as Buick sales are concerned, as it has increased its sales for nine months running. On top of the strong numbers for the Buick Verano, the month of August 2012 was also the best-selling month for Buick dating back to September of 2007!
The ongoing success of GM, and all their brands, is great news as they’re gearing up for a wide-scale release of new vehicle models and updated vehicles. Roughly 70 percent of all GM vehicles will be redesigned, or are completely brand new in either 2012 or 2013, with some of the first vehicles reaching the market just recently.
